Ambika likes Suresh. Both are in the same company. Venniradai Murthy is their boss. Suresh is economically poor and has many family responsibilities. Ambika tells Suresh that she will shoulder all his problems and they get ready for marriage. Mohan is Ambika's silent lover. Suresh's neighbor Anuradha is a spoilt rich brat who has her eyes on him. She goads him to marry her in exchange for a large sum of money. Due to his family problems Suresh agrees. Ambika is left in the lurch. Mohan comes and lends his shoulder to her. Finally, Ambika and Mohan are ready for marriage when Anuradha is killed in an accident. Suresh is back in her life asking her hand. Who will Ambika choose? A change from the usual typical Tamil heroines of those days who were wimpy and weepy, here Ambika shows some spine and independence. She appears in crisp cotton sarees to show that she is a sensible working woman. Anuradha unnecessarily wears tight satin revealing clothes to show that she is a spoilt brat. She could have worn jeans or skirts at least. She is also heavily made up even while showering or sleeping. I like Mohan's wardrobe in any movie. Suresh as the economically poor responsible son is good
